About Us
Full Metal Autos
What the heck do you mean by “Full Metal Autos?” Aren’t modern cars made of lots of things besides metal – such as plastics, glass, and rubber?
Of course, you’re correct. Trust me, it’s not easy to name a new website. Most of the good names are already taken, even if there’s not actually a website tied to those domain names. We wanted something bold and easy-to-remember. You don’t hear about the “Rubber Curtain” – it was the Iron Curtain. You don’t hear about Superman, the Man of Plastic – he is the Man of Steel. Fortunately, Rocky didn’t have a glass jaw. Plus, our name is an obvious tip-of-the-cap to Kubrick’s classic Full Metal Jacket. It’s a tough-sounding name, and we plan to be tough, but fair, in how we conduct ourselves.
We love cars and the car business, no matter where that takes us – United States, Japan, Germany, France, China, Brazil, Australia, India, or the U.K. – and we provide both opinion and information. We hope you enjoy the site.
